01 CORE NEIGHBORHOODS
Citizen Hound's most established north-side service territory.
1 Does Citizen Hound serve the Marina?
Yes. The Marina is one of Citizen Hound's core San Francisco service neighborhoods. Eligibility still depends on current route capacity, the requested service, and the dog's fit. Prospective clients should submit their cross streets so the team can confirm availability.
2 Do you serve Cow Hollow?
Yes. Cow Hollow is one of Citizen Hound's core San Francisco service neighborhoods. Eligibility still depends on current route capacity, the requested service, and the dog's fit. Prospective clients should submit their cross streets so the team can confirm availability.
3 Do you serve Pacific Heights?
Yes. Pacific Heights is one of Citizen Hound's core San Francisco service neighborhoods. Eligibility still depends on current route capacity, the requested service, and the dog's fit. Prospective clients should submit their cross streets so the team can confirm availability.
4 Do you serve Presidio Heights?
Yes. Presidio Heights is one of Citizen Hound's core San Francisco service neighborhoods. Eligibility still depends on current route capacity, the requested service, and the dog's fit. Prospective clients should submit their cross streets so the team can confirm availability.
02 QUALIFYING AREAS
Additional neighborhoods served where the address fits an active route.
5 Do you service Lower Pacific Heights?
Yes, in qualifying locations. Neighborhood boundaries and practical pickup routes can differ, so prospective clients should submit their exact address or cross streets rather than relying only on the neighborhood label. Current boundaries are shown on Citizen Hound's Service Area map located in the top right corner on desktop, or FAQ page on both desktop and mobile.
6 Do you serve Russian Hill?
Yes, in qualifying locations. Hills, traffic, route direction, and proximity to existing clients can affect whether an address fits efficiently. Prospective clients should submit their cross streets. Current boundaries are shown on Citizen Hound's Service Area map located in the top right corner on desktop, or FAQ page on both desktop and mobile.
7 Do you service Laurel Heights?
Citizen Hound serves qualifying locations in northeastern Laurel Heights. Route direction and proximity to existing clients can affect whether an address fits efficiently. Prospective clients should submit their cross streets. Current boundaries are shown on Citizen Hound's Service Area map located in the top right corner on desktop, or FAQ page on both desktop and mobile.
8 Do you serve the Presidio?
Citizen Hound serves qualifying locations on the Presidio's eastern side. Route direction and proximity to existing clients can affect whether an address fits efficiently. Prospective clients should submit their cross streets. Current boundaries are shown on Citizen Hound's Service Area map located in the top right corner on desktop, or FAQ page on both desktop and mobile.
9 Do you serve Nob Hill?
Citizen Hound serves qualifying locations in northwestern Nob Hill. Hills, traffic, route direction, and proximity to existing clients can affect whether an address fits efficiently. Clients should submit their address, not just cross streets; in Nob Hill we only service certain areas and buildings. Current boundaries are shown on Citizen Hound's Service Area map located in the top right corner on desktop, or FAQ page on both desktop and mobile.
03 BOUNDARIES & ELIGIBILITY
Why a neighborhood name is only a starting point.
10 Do you offer service throughout San Francisco?
No. Citizen Hound deliberately serves a focused portion of San Francisco rather than promising citywide coverage. A concentrated service area supports reliable pickup routes, long-term staff-client relationships, consistent packs, stronger backup coverage, and more time for quality care and customer service. Current neighborhoods and boundaries should be confirmed on the live Service Area map.
11 Are there any location surcharges?
Standard service is limited to Citizen Hound's active coverage area rather than routinely extended through neighborhood surcharges. Any exception, specialized transportation request, or service outside normal routing should be discussed individually. The current Rates and Service Area pages contain the controlling terms.
12 What if I live right on the service area boundary?
Citizen Hound’s boundaries are intentionally designed around factors such as topography, street direction and congestion, the concentration of residential addresses, typical building heights, and route efficiency. Families near a boundary are welcome to submit their address for individual consideration or possible future expansion. In some cases, an address outside the standard service area may qualify for a 2-Group Membership because that program does not require a midday return trip.
13 Does an address inside the service area guarantee service?
No. An address within Citizen Hound’s service area establishes geographic eligibility, but availability also depends on route capacity, the requested program and schedule, staff coverage, and whether an appropriate pack opening exists. Dogs must also complete Citizen Hound’s screening process to confirm that the available service is a safe and suitable fit.
04 PICKUP & ROUTE LOGISTICS
Reliable transportation protects adventure time and continuity.
14 Are home pickup and drop-off included?
Yes. Home pickup and drop-off are included in the normal pack-adventure service for eligible addresses. Clients must provide reliable access and clear instructions. If a dog uses more than one address, lives in a building with special access requirements, or needs an unusual handoff, the arrangement must be approved in advance. Temporary changes should be communicated with as much notice as reasonably possible.
15 Why does Citizen Hound maintain a focused service area?
Dog walking depends on logistics as much as affection for dogs. Expanding too far increases transportation time, makes pickup windows less predictable, weakens backup coverage, and reduces the time staff can devote to the actual adventure. A focused territory helps Citizen Hound provide consistent primary walkers, viable backup routes, dependable daily operations, and attentive customer service.
16 Can Citizen Hound serve multiple addresses or in person handoffs?
Citizen Hound can often serve dogs at multiple residences, including in shared-custody arrangements, provided both addresses are within the service area and can be accommodated efficiently on the same route. Each address must be reviewed and approved in advance. Citizen Hound does not provide in-person handoffs or arrange meeting points for pickup and drop-off. This includes meeting families who drive their dogs from outside the service area. Dogs must be picked up from and returned to an approved residence within Citizen Hound’s service area.
